About the Blog

So basically, this blog exists for only two reasons. One, many people I have talked to recommend having some sort of record of their experiences abroad. Apparently they like to be able to look back at their experiences and memories or some such crazy thing like that. I think it’s bull shit. I’m not exactly the reminiscing sort, but I figure I’ll give it a go anyway. After all, what else do I have to do with my time (which ties into reason number two, but I’ll get to that in a bit)? Since I’m a product of technology, and as I’ve never really been one to keep a journal or diary or whatever you want to call it, maintaining a blog and joining the hordes of identical others out there seemed to be an adequate response.

As for reason number two, well, I’m bored. I’m home for winter break, I haven’t left for Turkey yet, I don’t really want to get a job, and it’s cold as balls outside. So what does all this add up to? Well, apparently starting a blog…. I don’t really know why boredom=blog, but hey, here we are.

And now for the warning:

If someone is actually reading this, I have to say I’m amazed. I’m starting this blog pretty much only for the above reasons, both of which center around me. In case anyone stumbles across this in the course of random (or even legitimate) web surfing, I apologize. This blog is not, and most likely never will be, meant for public consumption. I created it as a way to keep and organize my experiences for the next six months in Turkey. Of course, people are more than welcome to read it, after all I would’ve made the posts private if I wanted them only available to myself. Just keep in mind that my intended audience for any subsequent posts will likely be my own slightly warped mind. Consider yourself warned.
